History
Some of my earliest memories involved radio controlled hobbies. When I was very young my dad used to race IC powered boats, I used to have a slow electric tug which I would potter around the pool at East Park in Hull. When I got a bit older I got some electric cars which I raced around the playing fields of a local school. But I always loved going up to Beverley Westwood to see the aircraft fly, especially on the rare occasion when there was a helicopter. Helicopters have always fascinated me, I dreamed about owning and flying one.
Zip forward a lot of years to the beginning of 2005 and a good friend at work started getting in to radio controlled electric park flyers. I had just sold my motorbike and I was looking for a new hobby, and considered getting something similar. My brother suggested I came to the Goole Clubman 3D event to see heli's again, as he knew I'd been very interested in them. So I went to the Saturday fly-in day. There was light rain but I saw some flights, to see the 3D flying up close was amazing. There was no going back, I was sold.
Paul suggested I should go for a Raptor 50, I then spent a lot of time reading on the web. The next stage was to get Real Flight G3, and then I ordered all my kit. The rest of this website will take things on from here.
I would like to thank Paul and Richard for all their help getting me started.
Goals
Keeping it flying in one piece!
But seriously, I'm really enjoying the hobby, and I'm trying to be sensible and take things one step at a time. My first aim is to get the BMFA 'A' and 'B' certificates.
