05/10/2008 Raptor Flight 286
A bit too windy at the field, so just had one quick flight with the Raptor.

Getting dark early now, so only managed a few flights.

Raptor flight was short, as I heard that the belt as loose, on landing it was very loose!

This is the first time I've really felt like giving in, it just seems to be one issue after another. I did manage three flights today without crashing, however I didn't try any stall turns. Also I had four issues:
first and most important was I only went in a t-shirt and it was cold.
second and most scary was that as I lifted up the heli after the second flight and the head came first. I hadn't put the nut on the bolt through the main gear, doh! Thankfully the bolt came out at the end of a flight rather than during.
third and most dumb thumb was landing with the tail first and breaking both tail blades.
fourth and most annoying was that my glow driver ran out of charge so I couldn't finish off my current gallon of fuel.

Two flights and all was going well so I decided to try a stall turn with the Raptor. Again I crashed it by not pulling out in time. That makes three crashes in five flights all due to failed stall turns, not good

First time flying in over a month, I get to the field have one flight and then it rains, so an early trip home.

Raptor was flying great but while preparing for the third flight of the day I noticed that the seesaw connection to the head was loose again. I investigated and the thread had gone on one side, so it was only held in by one bolt, exactly the same thing happened 7 months ago.

Stuff, stall turns, loops, rolls, and flips (no inverted). Tried to do some circuits but they were not very good.

At the Pontefract and District Aeromodellers Heli fly-in I had one flight with the raptor, tried doing some top hats.

Just one flight tonight, it was a bit windy, and I was having glow plug problems, so I took this as a sign not to continue.

A hot Sunday at the Park Hall Fly-in, first time I've been to the field and they have a good site, Paul had a fly of my Raptor to check its set up.

Bank holiday monday and a lovely bright sunny day, at the field for 10:30 for a good days flying, so something had to go wrong! First flight with the Raptor was going really well with some good rolls, so I decided to try a flip, I lost too much height and ended in the ground :-(

A good number of flights today 7 (one on the 450), my last Raptor flight ended with a hard landing into a muddy puddle, it went everywhere, but no real damage.

Three flights this afternoon, more of the same stuff. Flight 242 finished my first gallon of fuel for this year.

Tried to fly yesterday but while preparing for the first flight I noticed that the brass insert had come loose from the washout base, so I had to go home early. Changed some of the gyro settings today and the tail is holding alot better. More stall turns, loops, rolls, and flips.
09-10/02/2008 Flights 229-232 / 232-237
First sunny and light wind weekend in ages, and I managed nine flights. I now feel my flying is back to my standard of a year ago (if not a bit better). I feel I've finally got good at hovering looking at the right side :) Over the two days I tried stall turns, loops, rolls, forward and backward flips. I also attempted my first 3DX set manoeuvre, travelling backwards flip, not very good as I had stop travelling by the end of the flip but I give it a try!

Weather didn't look to good but I went to the field anyway. Only got to fly one short flight. The wind was gusty and I had a bit of a fight to get it to land.
